BOB POWERS is a writer, producer, and content strategist with over twenty years experience across multiple platforms including digital, television, print, and AI model development.
Bob began his career performing live comedy on New York City's Lower East Side in the 90's and 00's. His writing career began when his humor blog drew thousands of daily readers and was adapted into his first book, Happy Cruelty Day! (St Martins Press). Several more humor books followed, amassing tens of thousands of copies sold, and Bob began writing regular contributions to McSweeney's, The New Yorker's Shouts and Murmurs, Esquire, and GQ.
His work in digital began with a four year stint as managing editor of the humor website someecards.com, when he scaled up the site's audience from 5 million to 25 million unique visits per month. After leading digital news and video projects for platforms including AOL, Yahoo!, and Huffington Post, Bob moved into television.
From 2016 to 2024 he wrote for sitcoms and comedy/variety shows created and produced by Stephen Colbert, airing on Comedy Central, Showtime, Hulu, and Paramount+, earning multiple season renewals and awards recognition from the Writer's Guild of America.
Bob is currently working with OpenAI refining model behavior and user experience for ChatGPT.
